As the 2024 “unprecedented campaign” continues to heat up, as we predicted months ago the intrusion of “AI” has become more and more apparent … and disturbing.
The first, blatant use of AI in the 2024 primaries came during the spring; in New Hampshire, an “AI-generated” fake audio of President Biden — supposedly telling his Democratic primary voters to “stay home and NOT to ‘waste their vote'” — suddenly began making the rounds. It was quickly identified as a) a pretty lousy AI fake, but b) a concerning harbinger of “more bad AI things to come” ….
Fast forward to July:
The sudden, “George Washington-like” resignation of President Joe Biden from the 2024 race, and his strategic nomination of Vice-President Kamala Harris as the top presidential replacement on the Democratic ticket, stunned the nation like a political “Richter-12 earthquake!”
Immediately, in her first large-scale rallies after the switch, visibly attended by “tens of thousands of cheering, enthusiastic fans,” these “stadium-filling Harris crowds” quickly gained national attention; they also became the target of an insidious, false accusation by the Trump Campaign … that the Harris’s team was using “AI produced videos and images … to generate her ‘fake’ huge crowds!”
And, few voters seemed to be able to tell “which was which!”
Then, a poster suddenly appeared on the Trump Campaign website and his Truth Social — featuring a striking image of Taylor Swift resounding endorsing Donald Trump for president!
It was another political earthquake: Swift has something like 280 MILLION followers on Instagram, and had been an obvious major focus of Trump for her coveted presidential endorsement.
Only one thing was wrong ….
The “endorsement” was another AI-generated FAKE!!
So, what comes next …?
