Home » Bio Daniel Pinchbeck
Daniel Pinchbeck is an American author, currently living in New York, with a passion for understanding consciousness and how we can expand it to find our truth.
Dan is the author of “Breaking Open the Head: A Psychedelic Journey into the Heart of Contemporary Shamanism by Daniel Pinchbeck, Lee Fukui (Designed by),” and “[2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl] (By: Daniel Pinchbeck) [published: September, 2007].“He is a co-founder of Evolver, a lifestyle community platform that publishes Reality Sandwich, an online magazine centered on spirituality, philosophy and activism.
Philosophically influenced by the work of anthroposophist Rudolf Steiner — through his direct experience and personal research — Pinchbeck developed the hypothesis that shamanic and mystical views of reality have verifiable validity, and that the modern world has forfeited an understanding of intuitive aspects of being, in its relentless and almost obsessive pursuit of “rational materialism.”
Daniel Pinchbeck also served as executive director of the think tank, Center for Planetary Culture, which produced the Regenerative Society Wiki. His essays and articles have been featured in The New York Times Magazine, Esquire, Rolling Stone, ArtForum, The New York Times Book Review, The Village Voice and many other publications.
