“Make No Wine … Before It’s Time”

One day, in 1986 — 39 years ago this year (twice “19.5” …) — a New York real estate developer named Stephen Cipes, would take a trip to Western Canada … to the lands of the aboriginal peoples of the Okanagan Nation.

The trip would change his life–

From becoming just another “Donald Trump” … creating yet more “artificial canyons in Manhattan” … to becoming the creator of the most unique varieties of grape vintages found on Planet Earth, the first true–

“Hyperdimensional Wines.”

Stephen decided to switch from real estate, and become instead a “vintner” — to build the “Summerhill Pyramid Winery,” and then locate it in a small western Canadian town, called Kelowna, British Columbia; for, moved by continuing “inspiration” (his term …) Stephen also decided to build a massive Pyramid in Kelowna in which to “age” his wines; “an exact limestone replica” — in both materials and scale — to the original Great Pyramid of Ancient Giza.

When embarking on this grand “hyperdimensional wine experiment” (of course, he didn’t CALL it that …), Stephen deliberately chose to create his pyramid out of the same materials — limestone, imported from the same ancient quarries in Egypt, at great cost — that had provided the Great Pyramid’s own limestone!

And then, for “some additional reason,” he decided to locate “his Pyramid” on the planet … at EXACTLY -119.5 degrees West of Greenwich, England–

“19.5!”

It is in this unique limestone structure of the Western World that Stephen “ages” not only his world-famous wines, but other beverages and foodstuffs — and consistently wins hands down “blue-ribbon tasting prizes” all around the world ….

Now, in the next few days, Stephen’s Pyramid is going to be the site of another unique “Hyperdimensional Experiment” — as a variety of clocks, placed inside the Pyramid, record the “changing Physics of the Earth” across the ~2 hours of the upcoming Total Lunar Eclipse (March 13).

While — 238,000 miles away — the Blue Ghost spacecraft, standing on the ancient plains of Mare Crisium — sails into the same shadow of the Earth and experiences — with ITS own instruments — the full “Hyperdimensional Effect” of a Total Solar Eclipse … as seen from the surface of the Moon ….

Winner of the prestigious Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the man at “Canada’s most visited winery” seems more a spiritual visionary than Wall Street hard-nose.

When Stephen Cipes first visited the Okanagan in 1986, the New York developer believed he’d found unique conditions to produce “intensely flavoured small grapes”–the perfect base for sparkling wine. Cipes brought grape clones from France and “personally planted them on my hands and knees.”

Summerhill follows organic growing practices. No herbicides or pesticides “keeps the lake clean and our grapes don’t taste from the chemicals,” says Cipes. “These grapes are happy guys, they’re flourishing. Our wines are allowing nature to speak for herself.” Summerhill wines are regularly honoured in international competitions. “We’ve won gold medals in France and the trophy for Best Bottle Fermented Sparkling Wine in London, England!” he beams.

Philosophy of Business: “We love to be hosts. We want people to feel genuinely welcome in our home,” he says. “I try to empower my employees to exude that love. That’s ideal for what we do here. We’re welcoming people from around the world.” Cipes promotes from within and believes in being up-front. “I’m there for people,” he says. “I take phone calls. I put my money where my mouth is. I own the business in my own name and I put my name on the product.”

Philosophy of Life: “Be whole unto yourself at all times,” the winemaker advises. “Allow your grand self to come through in your regular self.”

Accomplishments: “My four sons are accomplished, fun-loving, warm-hearted people. That’s the best thing a dad could have.”

Advice for Entrepreneurs: “You can’t focus on the monetary or material result. Be a conduit and allow your vision, your dream to come through — and fortify it every day.” How? “By taking every possible step to achieve your goal — like making sure there is toilet paper in the washrooms, the music is playing, the bottles are dusted and the chef has had his hug.”
