Dr. Debra Greene
Debra Greene earned her Ph.D. from Ohio State University and has a total of three academic degrees in communication. Kynthea is the Co-Founder of Global Peace Media, Co-Host/Producer of "The Other Side of the News" and previous Producer for "The Other Side of Midnight."

As a graphic designer and illustrator, he serviced small to large Canadian companies. Timothy Saunders is a British national who grew-up near to the south coast of the United Kingdom. Positively influenced by the nearby yachting and shipping scene, he chose his ideal career path at the age of ‘ten’ when he decided to become a yacht designer. He studied Industrial Design at the coveted Coventry University and is fortunate to have been chosen by many of the world’s highly revered yacht Design Studios to work on an array of live projects of different sizes, styles and uses, during what he affectionately calls his apprenticeship years. In 1999 Timothy established his independent Design Studio and rapidly became involved in originating a new generation of Super and Megayachts ranging in size from 9-270m (30-886 ft), which gained increasing positive notoriety while exhibiting his work at the Monaco Yacht Show and other prestigious venues. Timothy will see the launch of a 90m Megayacht and a 50m Super Sail yacht later this year and says, “it is very rewarding to breathe life into these innovative projects which are ultimately positive reflections of each satisfied Owner”. Hi,
I have just listened to the podcast and I agree with you wholeheartedly on many points. The radiation from mobile phones and wireless networks is taking over, especially in cities.
The optimal solution is of course to go back to the good old wire, but I think we just have to look for a reasonable compromise.
And here’s why: modern mobile solutions save time, which of course saves money, but also paper. Imagine everything that we have already digitalised today would have to be reversed. Our economy, among other things, cannot cope with this, but the increased paper consumption will of course also place a renewed burden on nature, because it would be much higher today than 30 years ago. According to statistics, we are already in the process of clearing all rainforests in 80 years.
The next point that concerns me most, since I am visually impaired myself, is how helpful wireless devices can be for people with disabilities in their daily lives. The scenarios are very diverse and here one really has to ask oneself if we should limit the quality of life that these people could achieve through technology.
There are probably tens of other reasons why we should not ban wireless technology altogether. But these are two points that come to my mind personally.
Then a comment from me on the subject of games and social media: I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s and of course I grew up without computers and portable gaming devices to a large extent. I got my first game console when I was 7 or 8 and my first computer when I was 10. And today I see 4 year olds already playing VR games. I have become a IT professional, but I have never fallen into the addiction of social media, I am rather a grouch, so the exception. Computer games like Tim criticized are of course another topic. I grew up in a time when the term media competence did not yet exist. Some games that I played as a child, I would never let my own children play in a modern version. But what makes the difference is that I had parents who took me away from computers and into nature. A sensible education is more important than banning the playing of computer games. Especially shooters are always criticized. However, there are many studies that prove that such games around team play promote the communication skills of children.
What I want to say is that it is not all black and white, but there are many shades of grey in between and a balanced discussion on such topics is important.
